Cary has over 20 years of experience in the real estate industry with extensive experience in finance, development and management of multifamily.
Cary has brokered over 275 transactions with an aggregate value of more than $650 million. Prior to founding Commercial Property Advisors, he was an Associate at Hendricks & Partners (now Berkadia). He also marketed and sold assets for Key Bank, Hartford, AIMCO, CapMark, Centerline (now Hunt), and private equity groups around the world. Cary has managed the daily operations of 1,122 multifamily units in southeastern Michigan. He was also active in the development, construction and sale of over $46 million of single and multifamily homes. Cary serves as a VP of the Apartment Association of Michigan and is a licensed real estate broker in the States of Michigan, Kentucky and Tennessee in addition to being a licensed residential builder in Michigan. Cary and his team have also been recognized by CoStar as the Market’s Top Investment Sales Firm and Broker in 2016.
Scott brings over three decades of experience in commercial real estate brokerage and development. He began his real estate career in the early 1980’s at a small boutique Investment brokerage in Detroit and moved on to spend 10 years with the national firm Marcus and Millichap’s Detroit office specializing in apartment sales in the Midwest. Through-out his career he has also owned and operated a small boutique investment real estate firm specializing in apartment re-development sales and management. Scott has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Oakland University. His Michigan professional licenses Include, Real Estate Associate Broker, Residential Builder and Property and Casualty Insurance.
Steve leads the Capital Markets team. Steve has over two decades of experience in multifamily real estate investment, development, property management, and asset management. Prior to joining Greystone Bel, Steve spent 6 years in various senior financial leadership roles with Village Green, a leading multifamily investment and development firm that manages over 45,000 apartments. Prior to Village Green, Steve spent 5 years as the CFO at Kaftan Communities, a Michigan based owner and property manager of multifamily communities. Steve is a registered Certified Public Accountant in the State of Michigan and also holds a real estate salesperson license in the State of Michigan. Steve received his Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University.
Nick received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in 2014 where he studied business and communications. His focus is on investment sales in Michigan and Ohio and he is a licensed salesperson in Michigan.
Austin received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Northwood University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Immediately after graduation, he joined Greystone Bel focusing on Investment Sales. Due to his unprecedented work ethic and strong interpersonal skills, Austin brings a young and vibrant skill set to an already well experienced team. Austin is a licensed salesperson in the State of Michigan.
Jeff has 35 years experience in commercial real estate brokerage and development. He founded Stidham Commercial Partners which was known for pre-development consulting and brokerage services, tenant/buyer representation, transaction structuring, and strategic site and asset identification and acquisition.
Jeff’s team has closed in excess of $225 million in apartment sales and finance transactions in the past five years. Apartment land sales transactions have totaled more than 2,000 units.
Jeff has been consistently ranked as a leader and top producer within the commercial real estate community. His prestigious client list includes numerous Fortune 500 companies as well as many well known national, regional and local companies.
Justin has been actively involved in the real estate industry for 9 years. He has worked with numerous local, regional, and national real estate investment companies on the acquisition, disposition, and finance of both existing multifamily properties as well as development projects throughout various markets in central Kentucky.
Since 2014, Justin has been involved in advisory, finance, and brokerage roles for more than 1,200 existing and new construction multifamily units exceeding $150 million in total value in and around the Lexington, Kentucky market.
Prior to joining Stidham Commercial Partners Justin worked as a commercial property tax assessor and appraiser and uses extensive underwriting, financial modeling, and analytical skills developed in these positions to further the firm’s development of commercial real estate markets throughout Kentucky. He is actively involved in the Kentukcy Chapter of the Urban Land Institute.
Justin received a BBA in finance with an emphasis in real estate from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky.
Payton specializes in the acquisition and disposition of multifamily investment properties throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. He has been providing investment advisory services since 2002. He has formed an industry-leading investment services platform to assist private and institutional investors in the protection and creation of wealth.
Over the past 15 years, Payton has been involved in hundreds of advisory, proposal, acquisition and disposition assignments for various private individual investors, developers, management and investment companies, estates, and trusts throughout the United States.
Mark has over 40 years’ experience in investment advisory services. He has successfully executed many types of transactions including pre-sales, UPREIT and recapitalizations as well as affordable housing and large portfolio sales. Mark is responsible for over $7 billion in sales over his career. Mark has established strong relationships with many top multifamily developers and institutional players.
Joe joined Greystone Real Estate Advisors from Marcus & Millichap in 2016. With more than 13 years of Texas-based commercial real estate experience, Joe has closed more than 16,500 units valued at more than $970 million in multifamily transactions for both institutional and private sellers across Texas since 2005.
Kent joined Greystone Real Estate Advisors from Marcus & Millichap in 2016. He brings more than 11 years of Texas-based commercial real estate experience to Greystone, also specializing in multifamily property sales. During his career at Marcus & Millichap, Kent closed more than 12,000 units in multifamily transactions in markets such as Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth, San Antonio, Houston, as well as multiple secondary markets throughout Texas. Hailing originally from Houston, he also has an extensive history with troubled asset sales and distressed debt workout.
Steve previously worked at Brown Realty Advisors prior to its forming a joint venture with Greystone, which added national, institutional resources and a robust debt and equity platform for existing and new clients. Based in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Steve heads Greystone Brown’s team in the Carolinas and Coastal Georgia with a focus on conventional multifamily investment sales, business development and debt and equity placement.
Steve brings nearly 15 years of multifamily sales advisory experience to Greystone Brown. Prior to joining the firm, he was co-founder and Partner of Coastal Apartment Advisors from 2004 to 2016, where he was directly involved with transactions totaling $1.2 billion. Before forming Coastal Apartment Advisors, he worked with Brown Realty Advisors in Atlanta in multifamily sales.
Scott has been involved in the commercial real estate industry since 1987, having completed approximately 1,500 transactions totaling in excess of $2 billion. He has been recognized as a top producer by the Denver Metro Commercial Association of Realtors. Mr. Shwayder is also a Principal of Wheelhouse Commercial Management, a commercial property management firm, and SC Capital, a privately-funded acquirer of non-performing residential mortgages throughout the US. He also serves as Lead Director and Chairman of the Loan Committee for Fortis Private Bank and Fortis Private Wealth Management.
Bo is responsible for securing and growing business lines, recruiting, and creating and managing strategic initiatives for Greystone Brown. Bo has more than 40 years of multifamily real estate experience, and is consistently recognized as one of the leading multifamily investment specialists in the Southeast, closing more than $5 billion in multifamily sales transactions. During his career, he has represented advisors, developers, investors, lenders, and REITs with their assets. This sophisticated approach to business allows him to assist clients in a long-term, strategic consulting role, versus simply selling an asset and negotiating pricing from a one-off transaction perspective. Bo earned his BBA from the University of Georgia.
Todd leads the multifamily advisory group for Northern California. Prior to joining Greystone, Todd was the head of the multifamily team at Cushman & Wakefield. He served as a Vice President with CB Richard Ellis and also co-founded his own commercial real estate brokerage company. Todd is a member of the Urban Land Institute and also sits on the Oakland Land Use Committee. Recent awards include CoStar’s Power Broker of the Year Award for the past five consecutive years.
Mike has over 15 years of experience in the seniors housing industry and has been involved in the acquisition, development or disposition of more than $2.9 billion in seniors housing properties. Prior to joining Greystone, Mike worked with ARA and Cushman & Wakefield. He specialized in seniors housing investment sales. He has also held positions at Herbert J. Sims and CNL Financial Group, Inc. where he originated joint venture partnerships and was responsible for deal-structuring and negotiations, underwriting, site analysis and asset management. Mike is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM). He earned a BS in Finance from the University of Central Florida and an M.B.A. from Webster University.
Adam is a highly involved player in bringing deals to the closing table, having closed over $160 million in apartment transactions during his career. He is skilled in completed challenging transactions including HUD, 1031 exchanges, NNN (retail), seller carry, as well as many low or no money down deals.
Adam’s experience with apartment sales have a wide variety including: High Rise, Garden Style, Condo Portfolios, Renovated Properties, Renovation Properties, Vacant Properties, HUD Properties, Trust Properties, Philanthropic Trust, Mixed-Use, Loan Acquisitions, Non-Profit Transactions, Portfolio Sales, and Out-of-State Transactions. David is based in Denver, CO and has over 15 years’ experience in real estate. He has successfully developed and acquired more than 100 properties totaling 15,000+ units in 20 states with a value of over $1 billion. He brings extensive experience from the principal side, having previously served as Managing Director of Cambridge Housing Partners and Director Acquisitions for Steele Properties, LLC. David is a CCIM member, licensed broker, and serves on the Board for Auburn University’s Masters of Real Estate Development Program.
Brandon is focused on promoting positive community and developing a larger market share for his team in the western Denver sub-market.
Brandon came to Greystone Unique Apartment Group after years of many athletic ventures that proves his unmatched competitive, professional and entrepreneurial spirit. Most notably, he spent two years with the Buffalo Bills (2013-2014) of the NFL and in 2016 played for the Gold Coast Suns of the Australian Football League. During his time playing professional football, he was a partner at Just Results Fitness in Broomfield, Colorado, while also establishing a wide receiver academy for high school and collegiate football athletes of whom he still works with.
Brandon is a graduate of Eastern Washington University where he was a two-time All American and national record holding wide receiver. He obtained a BA in Sociology.
Aaron has over 20 years’ experience in commercial real estate. Aaron has transacted more than $2 billion in multifamily transactions. He specializes in Section 42 and Section 8 sales nationwide, having previously managed nearly 2,500 units. As a previous owner of affordable housing he has first-hand understanding of asset underwriting and sales. Prior to joining Greystone, Aaron was Managing Director at Hendricks-Berkadia and its predecessor firms.
Jason is a multifamily investment specialist in the Denver metro area and has sold 100+ transactions in excess of $100 million in the past 10 years.
Jason started his career with Marc Lippitt and Scott Shwayder and soon after discovered his passion for real estate and his special niche for introductory level apartment buildings. In 2010 and 2011, their team was a part of DMCAR top 10 performers and Jason was in the top 5 young brokers of Colorado. Since 2012, Jason, Marc and Scott joined their team with another top performing apartment team which included Kevin Higgins, Ryan Floyd and Adam Riddle. They all came together to form the Unique Apartment Group, “One Team. One Goal. Your Success.”
Jason earned a Bachelor’s from Wake Forest University in Economics and Spanish.
Prior to joining Greystone, Simon helped create Cushman & Wakefield’s NorCal multifamily team. He also worked for Arroyo & Coates, where he collaborated with the CEO to close over $500 million in assets during his first year with a focus on multifamily and condo conversions. This included the disposition of a 288-unit condo conversion in Pittsburg, CA; disposition of 124 units in Mountain View, CA; and the disposition of a 29-story high rise in San Francisco. Simon has been awarded the CoStar Power Broker of the year award in 2014 and 2015.
Kevin started his career at a national commercial real estate office in 1990. Kevin has personally negotiated over 350+ apartment transactions. Kevin along with The Unique Apartment Group has successfully negotiated over a billion dollars in apartment sales in Colorado. He also closed numerous commercial transactions over the past 25 years. He has experience in owning, managing and renovating property in the capacity of a personal nature, including over 75 apartment buildings in Colorado, Kansas City and Wyoming.
Kevin has received numerous agent awards including being named one of the top Denver Metro Commercial Association of Realtor’s Heavy Hitters in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 & 2012.
He has also received multiple directorships and senior advisor positions as well as consulting for government and private corporations. As an expert in the field of HUD and apartment transactions, Kevin has provided courts with expert testimony and hosted numerous speaking engagements. He has represented some of the best know names in the multifamily business on the buy and sell side.
Walter specializes in new and value-add market rate apartment as well as student housing properties. He focuses on multifamily sales and also has an extensive track record of owning, managing, and selling retail, land and office properties. He leverages his experience in conducting site selection, construction, renovation and alternative uses for his clients’ assets, creating additional revenue stream for their bottom line. Having been an owner of multifamily, land, and retail properties, he has a unique perspective of the issues that owners face. With over 30 years’ experience in acquisitions, dispositions, lending, and portfolio management, and has closed more than $1 billion in multifamily sales transactions.
Mark has over 30 years of experience in the real estate industry. Over the course of his career, Marc has been involved in nearly every aspect of commercial real estate brokerage, including acquisitions, sales, management, market analysis, development and finance on numerous projects throughout Colorado.
Marc has consistently been recognized as one of Colorado’s top real estate brokers and was acknowledged as the number one commercial realtor in 1999 by DMCAR in the small office division. The Denver Business Journal has also consistently recognized him as a “Heavy Hitter” in their newspaper.
Marc has brokered in excess of $1,000,000,000 in real estate transactions over the last 12 years. He has been called upon to be an expert witness in various complex real estate related litigation and has been a guest lecturer and a featured speaker at an international symposium in Oslo, Norway.
Eric worked in the commercial real estate industry for over 15 years. Eric has transacted more than $1.5 billion in multifamily transactions, including numerous portfolios valued at over $100 million. He specializes in 4% and 9% LIHTC sales nationwide in addition to his extensive familiarity with tax-advantaged structures such as the 1031 Tax-Free Exchange. Eric is particularly skilled with REO asset sale facilitation and general partnership buy-out transactions. Prior to joining Greystone, Eric was Co-Director at Hendricks-Berkadia.
Nik is a multifamily investment specialist who focuses on the Denver market and serves as the Central Denver expert. Nik is a dynamic asset to the team and works collaboratively to advise clients in their real estate sales decisions.
Nik graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance. Along with his finance degree Nik took numerous Real Estate classes and was actively involved with the Colorado University Real Estate Center.
Cody has over a decade of experience in brokering seniors housing and long term care properties, which has led to $1.4 billion in seniors housing acquisitions and financing. Before Greystone, Cody worked in investment sales with ARA Seniors Housing and was a VP with the Healthcare Real Estate Lending Group at Guaranty Bank and BBVA Compass. During this time, he originated new construction, acquisition, and mini-perm financing for large institutional clients as well as privately-owned regional clients. Cody received his BBA in Finance from Texas Christian University and is an active member of the American Seniors Housing Association and the National Investment Center.
Phil is a multifamily investment specialist focusing on the markets north of Denver including: Boulder, Broomfield, Aurora, Lafayette, Longmont, Loveland, Fort Collins and Greeley. Taylor previously worked at Brown Realty Advisors where he was involved in the sale of over 15,000 units totaling over $500 million in volume. Taylor received his BBA in Real Estate from the Terry School of Business at The University of Georgia. Ryan is a multifamily investment specialist in the Denver metro area. During the last 14 years, Ryan has been instrumental in closing over $367 million in apartment transactions.
Ryan is a licensed realtor with the Denver Metro Commercial Association of Realtors. He has completed transactions with several challenges including HUD, 1031 exchanges, NNN (retail), seller carry as well as many low or no money down deals.

He received is BBA in Real Estate from the University of Georgia’s Terry College.
Chandler is a current member of The Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors, Young Council of Realtors, a licensed sales person in the state of Georgia. Mr. Brown also serves on the junior committee for The Shepherd Spinal Center in his spare time.
Zach has over 12 years of sales and management experience. Zach is committed to providing clients with superior consultative and transaction services, including: formulating short and long term business strategies, production and delivery of the most in-depth market research, and transaction execution through the most effective asset marketing strategies in the commercial real estate market. He is a multifamily specialist focusing on the Colorado Springs market.
David joined Greystone from Colliers International where he was an Associate specializing in the sale of multifamily properties and land for development. He was directly involved in the sale of over 1,600 units totaling more than $225 million in volume. Prior to Colliers, David was at Brown Brothers Harriman for 10 years working in their Boston, New York and London offices his responsibilities included trading, financial accounting, international relationship management and balance sheet management.
Justin has nearly two decades of commercial real estate sales advisory experience, having played a role in the disposition, acquisition, development and/or management of more than 20 million square feet of property in the U.S. and Mexico with a cumulative value of half a billion dollars. Justin focuses on providing full-service sales and finance advisory to owners and investors of seniors housing.
Prior to joining Greystone, Justin owned Ridnour Partners LLC, which focused primarily on the seniors housing sector, but also included brokerage and construction services. Previously, he worked for publicly traded REITs and family office development firms.
Justin earned a Bachelor’s degree from Baylor University in Waco, TX and is a licensed real estate broker in the state of Texas.
Cory focuses on private owners, both non-institutional and institutional, with non-core portfolio and single-property multifamily assets. She has worked with private investors, syndicators, REITs, life insurance companies, developers, and opportunity funds. Cory was formally with the Apartment Group at Cushman & Wakefield. Cory has assisted in the sale of over 5,500 units and $300+ million in transactional volume. She also has developed extensive experience in property assessment, multifamily asset consultation, financial analysis, and both qualitative and quantitative market research. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BBA from the University of Georgia in International Business & Marketing. She is currently a licensed real estate sales person in the State of Georgia.
Rob joined Greystone from Colliers International where he was a Senior Associate specializing in the sale of affordable and market rate multifamily properties. With over 12 years of real estate experience, has been directly involved in over 75 transactions and the sale of over 3,000 units totaling more than $350 million in volume. Rob also has seven years in construction management and real estate investing. He managed a multi-million dollar construction company where he led client relations, billing, production and inventory control. He also identified, managed, re-positioned and sold residential real estate.
Travers is located in Austin, TX and has experience performing accurate acquisition and divestiture due diligence. Travers also has a number of years in the energy industry where he worked as a petroleum Landman for several energy companies throughout Texas where he negotiated leases, easements, access agreements and road use agreements. Prior to working in the energy industry, Travers worked as an Analyst/Jr. Broker for Marcus & Millichap.
He is a graduate of Texas A&M University where he earned his Bachelor’s in Political Science.
Jim focuses on the multifamily disposition needs of private owners, both non-institutional and institutional. He brings over 30 years of experience covering multiple facets of the multifamily commercial real estate industry including property acquisitions and dispositions, investment and asset management, as well as investment sales. He has worked with private investors, syndicators, REITS, life insurance companies, developers, opportunity funds, and special servicers.
Jim has assisted in the sale of over $1 billion in transactional volume. He graduated from the University of Georgia Honors Program with a BBA in Finance and also holds a Masters in Real Estate from Georgia State University. He is currently a licensed real estate broker in the State of Georgia.
Fernando brings nearly 20 years of sales experience, most recently as a Director at Berkadia where he successfully coordinated four dispositions in 2016 valued at over $82 million.
Prior to Berkadia, Fernando directed the national marketing efforts for a portfolio of 57 assets totaling 17,000 units throughout the Southeastern US with Carroll Organization. He also provided management and support for the successful transaction of eight properties valued over $355 million. He was responsible for managing the due diligence and marketing implementation for 15 assets purchased totaling 5,550 units with a total value of $615 million.
